Champs was the first American style sports bar to open in Britain
when it opened it's doors on May 16th 1995.
The idea was conceived by Sheffielders David Ford and David Wickett
who both had experience of the American bar market and who were both
sports enthusiasts. It has been copied many times in Britain but remains
the original and the best, as witnesses by the Licensee and Morning
Advertiser 1999 award as "Sports Bar of the Year"
The design of
the operation gives a completely separate Bar and Restaurant area.
The bar can be packed with young people while the restaurant can
cater for families, parties and individuals of all ages.
