MEET THE PEOPLE

Jack Hepworth... Manager!! Since coming to work at Champs in December 2007, Jack has been managing all the staff here at Champs. With a background in catering and an education in business Jack is the perfect person to bring Champs bang up to date and on top of the latest trends in food and beverage. In his spare time Jack likes nothing more than a pint of Real Ale, playing various sports and attending a festival or two!!

Sarah Jeffrey... Restaurant Manager!! Sarah has worked at Champs since it first opened it's doors in May 1995. Originally only here for a year on placement, Sarah fell in love with the place and is now into her 14th year. In January 2009 Sarah became our Restaurant Manager. Sarah is probably best known for being married to 'Big' Steve, Champs' Head Doorman!!

Stephen 'Tevo' Hampshire... Bar Manager!! Tevo originally came to Champs as a schoolboy and worked as a glass collector before moving on to becoming a fully fledged member of the bar team. After deserting us for pastures new in Canada and Australia, Tevo returned to work as a member of the kitchen team. In January 2009 Tevo became our new Bar Manager.

Liana Underwood... Restaurant Supervisor (and resident daredevil) Liana joined our team in October 2006 and is now one of our restaurant supervisors. Liana is currently studying to become a PE teacher at Sheffield Hallam University. In her spare time Liana can be found jumping from planes and running 10k's for charity, shopping or enjoying tea at Sarah's house (usually cooked by Big Steve!!)

Kelly Hunter... Restaurant Supervisor. Kelly joined our team as a work placement student in May 2005, and other than a brief summer season in Zante, has been here ever since. Kelly is currently in her final year of a hospitality course at Sheffield Hallam University. In her spare time Kelly can be found shopping, shopping and shopping and wearing outrageous outfits to go out boozing!!

Catherine Carter-Worrall... Restaurant Supervisor. Catherine became a member of the Champs team way back as a glass collector before moving on to become a bar tender and finally settling in the restaurant. Catherine works full-time as a primary teacher and can regularly be found in Champs making all the girls cups of tea and mothering everyone!!

Greg Goodison... Head Chef!! Greg became our Head Chef in October 2008 shortly after our refurbishment. Greg has recently implemented a new bar and restaurant menu and is currently studying for a Level 3 NVQ. In his spare time Greg can be found cooking romantic meals for his girlfriend, jogging round Endcliffe Park or out with the lads.

Nathan Jeffrey... Second Chef!! Nathan began working here in 2001 as a schoolboy washing the pots. Despite a brief spell working at Mal Maison in Manchester, Nathan came back to Champs and is currently our second in command in the kitchen. In his spare time Nathan can be found playing various pub related sports (darts and pool), spending time with his girlfriend Donna or having his tattoos extended!!

Stephen Jeffrey... Head Door Supervisor!! 'Big' Steve has been at Champs since 1996 working on the door and keeping us all safe. After some wild years working at Republic, Bed and Niche nightclubs Steve settled down and married Sarah our very own restaurant manager. He can generally be found with a power tool of some description in his hand, complaining about his wife's blind, diabetic dog or drinking a cappuccino!!
